To start an install all the base board needs to be removed and the door casings need to be under cut to allow for seamless finished appearance. All the nails and staples are pulled if carpet is removed and rosin paper is laid to prevent squeaks.
In most cases the floor is laid from left to right but when obstacles or thresholds are to be met it can be worked right to left or from the obstacle out.
This photo is an example of right to left install.
The floor is worked up to bull noses.
Any bull noses are glued, screwed and plugged.
When possible hallways or mallet sections of floor will be made with single lengths of wood.
If raw wood is used the floor is sanded, colored if desired, and then finished with the Preferred coating.
